This expedition took us to Svalbard, a group of islands in the arctic sea, close to the North Pole.
On this trip we flew to the most northern airport, ate in the most northern kebab place, drove with sleds to Russian mining ghost towns, slept in tents, were afraid of polar bears and snowboarded
at places no one has ever been before.

Nikon has always been pushing the boundaries of what is possible in their DLSRS. This past winter I had the chance to use a then unreleased camera for a few weeks…The Nikon D7100

Nikon Japan sent me an email a couple months ago about using this new camera and testing its capabilities as an action sports photographer. They were interested to see how this camera could work in a waterhousing, shooting surfing from the beach with telephotos, and everything in between.

We used this camera with AquaTech Waterhousings in the surf, and from the beach with the new Nikkor 80-400 F4-5.6 VRII zoom. We also tested it with the 800mm F5.6.

The camera has a couple truly unique functions.. the ability to crop in on the sensor, which also gives you a boot in FPS as well, was incredibly useful for being able to get the most out of a small and handheld setup. It made a simple 70-200 and camera a powerful telephoto for shooting from the beach with the already cropped sensor.

Also, the camera has a removed optical low-pass filter, which showed incredible detail and color rendition in the images. Similar to those of the D800 which is the only other Nikon which has this option.

UNKLE ‘The Answer’

The Mexican Connection is a group of whitewater kayakers who base themselves out of Mexico City (DF). They are well known for capitalizing on every chance they get to escape from this huge city to go explore new rivers hidden in the mountains and valleys of Verecruz State.

After a long filming tour in Mexico Nomade Media left with a hard drive full of exclusive footage of the Banda and some friends in some of their many adventures. It’s worth a watch to see what some crazy Mexicans will do to get away from the big city. And yes it is as dangerous as it looks!!!

After visiting Fukui Izumi resort one year prior to this trip there was no doubt we had to go back and spend more time there with the full crew. With such awesome people and access to a full mountain with tons of resources it was definetely one of our favortie trips to date. Here a short teaser to hold you over until the full video.

As any showcased work of art deserves to be, Holger’s car is in the spotlight and on the pedestal that is the studio garage, which was designed and built for the specific purpose of working and living alongside the Ferrari. Holger shares the details of his car and of his enviable space, which includes a 16-foot driveway bridge, a ramp to roll the car outside to start, and some of the best views a car can take in of the Pacific Ocean.

Behold the majesty that is Cole Seely. A native of central California, Cole runs the show in this heart-thumping motocross video on his home soil at Zaca Station. As one of the most picturesque tracks on the West Coast, Zaca is a prime canvas for the masterful artistry that Cole is spitting out. The TLD Honda frontman has not ridden a national since 2011, but as you may have been able to tell, his prep for Hangtown 2013 is moving along swimmingly.

Cole is a self-proclaimed SX specialist, but he grew up on the same MX tracks as the rest of the California natives. Seely excels on bike skill and technical ability. His scrubs are literally the type of things kids talk about at the dinner table, and he has been known to throw a whip that would straight up hurt a lesser man’s feelings.
